A Timely Lesson from God's Word

I just added the "Daily Blessing" on my sidebar today and the Proverb that was the first to come up for today is "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34). Boy, this is a timely proverb for this day and age. The United States of America is definitely wallowing in the pits of sin these days, and it is only getting worse every day. If only we as a nation would turn back to righteousness, Godliness, holiness. The only possible way there is even a smidgeon of a chance of this happening is if we as Christians stand up and speak out for what is right. For example, Tennessee does not have a law that prohibits partial birth abortion. There is a bill (SJR 127) before the House right now and will be voted on within the next few weeks that would stop Partial-Birth Abortion in Tennessee. For more information, you can go to www.afa.net. Please write or e-mail you state representative to encourage him to vote for this bill. It will only take you a minute. We have been passive way too long. We need to decide NOW to band together as Christians regarding what is right and wrong according to God's Word!!! I'll now step down from my soapbox for a while.

I have another bone to pick - yesterday I was rear-ended on the interstate. For those of you in this area you know that the imminent I-40 closure (for 15 LONG months) is causing some revisions on I-40 and I-640. Well, yesterday I was in that mess on I-40 coming home from work and two car behind me rear-ended the lady behind me who rear-ended me and catapulted me into the SUV in front of me. We all motioned to manuever our way over to the shoulder, and lo and behold the initiating vehicle DID NOT stop. Can you believe it? How can a person not own up to their responsibility? So...needless to say I am in the black hole of insurance claims, yada, yada, yada...oh, and did I tell you that MY car was the only vehicle with any damage, of course, unless the "phantom" vehicle has any damage. Probably not!

Well, Ryan arrived safely in Iraq! Please continue to pray for his safety and for Jillian while they are separated. By my calculations it is only about 280 days til his return!

Hi there! It's busy here in the full-time working world! I'm sorry I don't get to stop by more often. Ryan was the militarty spotlight on Sunday night. I didn't realize he had already been in Iraq for a week! We're praying for him and all of you as well! I got a little weepy. :( I'm sorry about your accident, but I'm glad you weren't hurt. I miss seeing you! Maybe one of these Saturdays we can get together for dinner or something. Take care and keep in touch!
