Can You Believe It is December 12?

Where does the time go? I can't believe that it is already December 12th. I don't have my Christmas tree up yet, I haven't finished my shopping yet, and I just took my Fall decorations down a few days ago. I told my husband I am the "dud" of the neighborhood. I just can't seem to find the time to get everything done. Every year I say I am going to join the Christmas Club, start my shopping early, blah, blah, blah. Once again, this year I did not do any of those things, but...the New Year is right around the corner and once again I will make an effort to do some of those things and get a little more (actually a LOT more) organized.

Well, I did not reach my target loss of 17 pounds, but I only fell short by a little over a pound. The last few weeks have really been a struggle for me. I'm not sure why, but I just have lost some of my gumption. I haven't gained back any, but I haven't lost any more either. I'm still striving to lose the fifty pounds by the big 5-0 birthday (9 months, but who's counting), so my goal right now is to maintain, and once the New Year hits, I'll be back counting those points full force. I know I am anxious right now about Ryan's imminent departure, but I have to not use food as an emotional comfort. That is hard for me - there is a story from my childhood about that, but I will not go into it here. Anyway, that has always been a struggle for me and I am trying to overcome it.

Several weeks ago, my beautiful daughter-in-law started working at the law firm where I work and I am really enjoying her being there. She is our afternoon receptionist. God's timing is so perfect, that He would place her there at "such a time as this". I think we will be able to be a support for each other during this next year while Ryan is gone. Please pray for them that this time of separation would strengthen their walk with the Lord and their relationship with each other. Thanks for stopping by to visit. Leave me a message, even if it just to say "Hi"!

Hi Tammie! You have still done a terrific job on losing the weight. I think it is a good idea to not worry about it too much for the next few weeks...there is plenty of time :-)
