Well....What do you have to be thankful for?

Since my last weigh-in (Nov. 5), it has been a stressful, emotional, with some fun two weeks. Shortly after the last weigh-in, we found out that my son was being deployed to Iraq, then my brothers came for our family Thanksgiving, then I got an upper respiratory infection, then I had a medical test, which I was both anxious about and dreading.

We had a great time with the family around the table, and I did not eat too much. I put much thought into it before the time came, so I was prepared mentally and knew how much I should eat. Bravo!!! On Saturday night before all the company left on Sunday I started getting sick. By Wednesday I was coughing a lot and feeling pretty bad, plus I knew my test was coming up on Friday and I needed to feel better before that, so I went to the doctor.

Then, Thursday came and I had to do all the "prep" work for my test, which I was really dreading. You have to understand I have a very strong gag reflex and it is hard for me to swallow a pill, much less all of that liquid stuff I was going to have to endure. Anyway, I had a lot of people praying for me, and I was able to do almost all the "prep" work without much trouble at all. Then, God gave me perfect peace before the test and I am thankful to tell you, I received a good report regarding the test.

Anyway, as you can see, I am now down 14 pounds, with two weeks to go to lose three pounds. I have total confidence that I will succeed in this stage of the process. I had really hoped to get to twenty pounds by the end of the ten weeks, but if I make the 17 pounds, I will be happy.

Well, I hope that you spend some time over the next several days, although we should do it every day, thanking God for all He has done for you. I read a little story today about thanking God for the thorns as well as the roses. We've had a few thorns in our family this year, but I can definitely thank the Lord for all He has done for me and my family. Even with Ryan heading overseas after the first of the year, I know that God has wonderful things in store for our family next year as well. God is good! Blessed be the name of the Lord!!!
